Acknowledgment of NSF and NNCI

Published papers must acknowledge all sources of financial support. Since MNC receives funds from the National Science Foundation through the NNCI network, MNC users must acknowledge that support on all publications and presentations. Our funding is jeopardized unless everyone complies, so please add the following to your acknowledgement sections:

“Portions of this work were conducted in the Minnesota Nano Center, which is supported by the National Science Foundation through the National Nano Coordinated Infrastructure Network, Award Number NNCI -1542202."

Nano Center News

MNC Reopening

The cleanrooms and labs of the Minnesota Nano Center (MNC) have reopened on a limited basis for both University and external users. Researchers who have already enrolled in our user database will be able to regain access to MNC facilities after they have completed some additional COVID-safety training.

The readmission procedure for the Nano Center’s cleanrooms and the nanobio labs differs somewhat, so please contact us at mnc@umn.edu for details.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING CHANGES

  • Only currently-enrolled users can return to the MNC facilities at present—no new user enrollments are allowed at this time per University policy. This may change in July--watch this space for updates.
  • Equipment training for currently-enrolled users has resumed. If you are presently a lab user and require additional tool training, contact the manager of the lab you're using (i.e., the cleanrooms or the nanobio labs)
  • MNC facilities are now open 8 AM to 8 PM, Monday to Friday ONLY. The center will be closed on Friday July 3 for Independence Day.
  • The cleanrooms and labs are subject to occupancy limits, which are explained in the training.

Summer Workshops

The two-day summer workshops on 2-Dimensional Materials and Nanomedicine, scheduled for this June, have been postponed.

We are currently exploring options for virtual versions of both workshops, to be offered in the fall. Watch this space for more details.
